Triflex HX3 Series
The HX3 is Miele's newest generation and the one that replaces the HX2. Six models sit on the same platform, from everyday dry vacuuming up to the new Aqua models, which add a wet floorhead that clicks on in place of the electrobrush so one machine both vacuums and mops.
Up to 70 minutes on one battery — 26% longer than the HX2 — or up to 140 minutes on the two-battery Plus models.
AquaTwister wet cleaning on the Aqua and Plus Aqua, with three water levels and 360° Brilliant Light around the floorhead.
Lifetime HEPA filtration at 99.999%, with no replacement filter to buy for the life of the machine.

What every Triflex does
The 3-in-1 design, on every model here
The PowerUnit mounts at the top or the bottom of the machine, or comes off entirely. That one idea is what makes a Triflex handle a long hallway, a ceiling corner and a car seat without you owning three vacuums.
Comfort mode
PowerUnit at the bottom for large rooms and long corridors — easy to handle thanks to the low weight, and it stands on its own for short breaks.
Reach mode
PowerUnit at the top for hard-to-reach spaces — under beds and furniture, dust on ceilings, and every corner of the room.
Compact mode
Detach the PowerUnit and use it on its own for crumbs on the couch, stairs and car seats. Quick, and no dragging the whole machine around.
Twist2Open emptying
One twist opens the dust container straight over the trash, so emptying it takes a second and very little contact.
Lifetime filtration
The HX2 and HX3 models here carry a HEPA Lifetime filter; the HX1 Facelift uses Hygiene Lifetime. Either way there is no filter to buy again.
Wall bracket included
Every model here ships with a wall bracket, so the machine and its accessory set hang out of the way instead of taking up closet floor.

Should I still buy an HX2 now that the HX3 is out?
If the price or the specific tool set suits you, yes. The HX2 is the same German-engineered machine it was six months ago, and Miele kept the battery, charger, filter and most accessories compatible across generations, so parts won't disappear. What you give up is the HX3's longer runtime, its clearer display and the option of the AquaTwister wet floorhead. What you gain is the money — the HX2 Flash gets you two batteries for $899.
What's actually different between the HX2 and the HX3?
Three things that matter. Runtime went up 26% — up to 70 minutes on one HX3 battery versus 60 on a single-battery HX2. The display got clearer, showing battery, mode, Boost timer and remaining runtime. And the HX3 added the AquaTwister wet floorhead, which no HX2 can take. The body, the 3-in-1 design and the HEPA Lifetime filter are the same idea in both.
Which one is best for pet hair?
The Cat & Dog models, because they include the Electro Compact Brush — a small powered head for stairs, upholstery and car seats, which is where pet hair actually lives. On the floor, every model here uses the same XXL electrobrush and does fine. If you want the current generation, the HX3 Cat & Dog is on the HX3 page; if you want to save, the HX2 Cat & Dog is $999 new or $679 open box.
Do I need two batteries?
It comes down to square footage. One battery gives you up to 60 minutes on an HX2 or up to 70 on an HX3, in the lowest power mode — less if you run high power over carpet. If you clean the whole house in one go, the second battery is what keeps you from stopping to charge for four hours. Under roughly 1,500 sq ft, one is usually plenty.
Which of these can mop?
Only the HX3 Aqua and HX3 Plus Aqua, using the AquaTwister wet floorhead. It isn't simultaneous — you swap the AquaTwister on in place of the electrobrush, and the display switches from suction levels to water levels on its own. No HX2 or HX1 accepts it. The floorhead is also sold on its own for $249 and fits any HX3.
Will my existing accessories and batteries fit?
Mostly, yes. Miele kept the battery, charger, finedust filter, Hardfloor Care Tool and accessory holder compatible across the HX1, HX1 Relaunch, HX2 and HX3 — so spares you already own aren't wasted, and a battery bought today still works if you upgrade later. The electrobrush lineup did get consolidated to two SKUs, so check with us before ordering a replacement floorhead.
What does open box mean here?
A machine that came back to us and went through our shop rather than straight back on the shelf. There is one of each, the condition and exactly what's included are written on the product page, and the price reflects it. If anything about a particular unit isn't clear, ask us in chat — we have it in the building and can look.
Do I get Miele's warranty buying from you?
